Central Bank Fines Eight Banks in Uzbekistan

The Central Bank of Uzbekistan fined eight banks, seven payment service providers, and 12 microfinance organisations for violating laws and regulations. The fines followed a review during the Central Bank Committee’s November meeting.
Inspectors also issued warnings to 22 banks and three payment service providers about potential sanctions and corrective measures.
The Banking Supervision Committee has identified seven banks as systemically important for 2025.
