Uzbekistan Approves Regulations for Creating Tourism Clusters

The Cabinet of Ministers adopted the document

The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan has approved a regulation for establishing tourism clusters, according to a government decree.

To gain the status of a tourism cluster, an application must be submitted to the Tourism Committee. Documents can be filed online or sent by mail.

The regulation also defines the concept of a “tourism cluster” as a collective of organisations and entrepreneurs offering tourism and related services.

It is worth noting that the country aims to build at least 100 more hotels with a capacity of 15,000 rooms to further develop its tourism sector. Experts suggest focusing on eco-hotels and tourism clusters.

The government plans to boost domestic tourism by 40% through programmes supporting family vacations.
