Hamas and Israel have agreed to a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, which will take effect on January 18, Reuters reports.

The agreement will be implemented in phases and includes the release of Israeli hostages, the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, and the release of Palestinian prisoners.

However, hostilities persist despite the deal. On Saturday evening, Israel conducted airstrikes on Gaza, resulting in at least 32 fatalities, according to local authorities.
