A Tashkent’s decree issued by the city’s khokim, Shavkat Umurzakov, encourages Tashkent’s civil servants to wear national costumes to work on Fridays.

Wearing national costumes will become a mandatory requirement at public events.

The regional department of the Trade and Industry Board of Uzbekistan will create initiatives to support ethnic clothing producers. Additionally, the capital intends to establish training centers focused on designing and sewing traditional garments.

There are also plans to adorn public transport and travel documents with national Uzbek patterns.
