Uzbekistan Airways Announces New Flights to Madrid

Kursiv Uzbekistan reported that Uzbekistan Airways is set to launch direct flights to Madrid in 2025, as announced by airline representatives during a press conference marking the company’s 33rd anniversary.

This year, the airline will introduce flights from Fergana to Delhi. Uzbekistan Airways will begin operating flights from Tashkent and Fergana to Urumqi. There are also plans to consider direct flights to Shenzhen.

Shukhrat Khudaykulov, the Chairman of the Board, emphasised that Uzbekistan Airways will prioritise international destinations, while its subsidiary, Silk Avia, will focus on developing domestic transportation.

Uzbekistan Airways is planning to expand its fleet in response to increasing passenger traffic. The airline intends to add 14 Airbus aircraft by 2028 and purchase 14 Boeing planes by 2030-2031.

The airline aims to attract $100 mln in investment from Deutsche Bank.

Uzbekistan Airways has established a school to train pilots and flight attendants and support its growth. The two-year training program requires prospective students to undergo a rigorous selection process.

Kursiv Uzbekistan also reports that Uzbekistan Airways has achieved a net profit of 725 bn soums.
