Uzbek Pharmaceutical Startups To Receive Investments From Venture Fund

A venture fund will be established to finance pharmaceutical startups, according to a decree signed by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The fund will support projects in oncology, cell technologies, and biopharmaceuticals.

In addition, an investment fund for promising pharmaceutical industry projects will be launched in the republic.

The government intends to reimburse up to 100% of the expenses for Uzbek pharmaceutical companies that have registered their drugs with the US FDA or the European EMA.

Domestic pharmaceutical companies will also be eligible for a 50% reimbursement of costs related to registering drugs abroad.
