Uzbekistan aims to launch short-term sericulture courses for women, with the involvement of foreign experts, according to a government decree.

Women from across Uzbekistan will be trained in silk moth cocoon cultivation and provided assistance with employment opportunities. They will have the chance to participate in seasonal work and be prioritised for permanent job placements.

The courses will be taught by specialists from China, Vietnam, Japan, and other countries with advanced silk production technologies. Women employed in the sector will be included in a unified labour monitoring system.
