Uzbek Mining Sector Attracts $3.58 Bn In Investments In 2024

In 2024, Uzbekistan’s largest mining companies and the Ministry of Mining and Geology attracted $3.58 bn in investments, according to a statement from the ministry’s press service.

The leader in attracting investments was the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AMMC), which secured over $1.94 bn for its investment programme last year. The company is currently implementing a major expansion project at the Yoshlik mine, with an estimated cost of around $4.6 bn.

In second place is the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Complex (NMMC), which attracted $789.6 mn in investments in 2024. As a result, the company increased its production output by 39% compared to the previous year.

The Ministry of Mining and Geology of Uzbekistan attracted nearly $572 mn in investments. Additionally, Uzmetkombinat secured $151 mn, and Navoiuran obtained $126 mn in funding.

Throughout the year, the ministry and the country’s largest mining enterprises launched 60 investment projects and utilised $3.2 bn in foreign investments.
