Starting July 1, 2025, shareholders in Uzbekistan will have two options for investing in construction projects: they can use special escrow accounts or continue with the current investment system, as stated in a decree by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. However, beginning January 1, 2026, only Escrow accounts will be permitted for such investments.
An electronic platform for construction oversight will be operational by then. Until July 1, 2025, agreements for share participation can be executed and submitted to the tax authorities electronically.
A project office will be established under the Ministry of Economy and Finance to oversee all stages of housing construction.
Kursiv Uzbekistan also reports that the Russian state-owned company DOM. In collaboration with Uzbekistan developers, RF plans to launch a pilot project to implement Escrow accounts in the country.
