Starting in May 2025, Uzbekistan will allow products and services to be labelled with the Halal certification mark, according to a resolution issued by the country’s Cabinet of Ministers.
To receive this certification, products and services must comply with the standards of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC).
Additionally, Uzbekistan will establish certification bodies and a national standard for the Halal label.
The Uzbekistan Agency for Technical Regulation and the Committee on Religious Affairs will oversee the accreditation of certification bodies.
