Münchner Merkur Reports: Villa Tied to Usmanov on the Market in Germany
A villa in Germany, previously used by Alisher Usmanov as a recreational residence, has been put up for auction, according to the newspaper Münchner Merkur. The starting price for the property is 25 mln euros.
The villa is situated on the shores of Lake Tegernsee in the village of Rottach-Egern. The offshore company Tegernsee (IOM) Limited purchased it in 2011 for 7.8 mln euros.
Prior to this, Münchner Merkur reported that Usmanov rented the villa from Tegernsee for 77,000 euros per week. The billionaire reportedly left the property just four days after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Subsequently, it was revealed that the district court of Wolfratshausen ordered the sale of the villa to settle the offshore company’s debts.
The publication noted that Usmanov has been included on the EU sanctions list, and the Munich prosecutor’s office is investigating him for suspected tax evasion.
Kursiv Uzbekistan also reported that Usmanov temporarily stepped down from his position at the International Fencing Federation in early December last year.
