Uzbekistan and Malaysian company Mimos Berhad have agreed to create a joint venture to produce semiconductors, Dunyo news agency reported.
The agreement was reached at a meeting between Uzbek Ambassador Karomiddin Gadoev and Mimos Berhad CEO Saat Shukri Embong. The parties also discussed the idea of a joint technology park and a semiconductor assembly and testing center. Another topic of the talks was the training of skilled professionals.
The Malaysian government’s National Center for Applied Research and Development (MIMOS) agreed to participate in the establishment of a joint educational institution. The academy will operate on the territory of Uzbekistan. It plans to train specialists in electronics and semiconductors.
Mimos Berhad was founded in 1984 as a scientific institute. The company disseminates innovations and conducts research in microelectronics and semiconductors.
