Kazakhstan and China continue to strengthen their collaboration in the renewable energy sector and other key industries. During a recent meeting, Chairman of the Board of Samruk-Kazyna Nurlan Zhakupov and Chinese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Han Chunlin discussed new opportunities for cooperation in energy, oil and gas, and logistics. The upcoming Kazakhstan-China Business Council meeting was also on the agenda.
Strategic partnerships in key sectors
Samruk-Kazyna is actively working with China’s leading corporations across various industries. Among them are China National Nuclear Corporation, China National Petroleum Corporation, and State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) in the energy sector. Huawei and Citic Group contribute to technological and industrial development, while CRRC Corporation Limited and SANY Group play a key role in transport and heavy machinery.
The discussions highlighted positive progress in all areas of cooperation, reflecting the long-term commitment of both countries to economic and technological partnership.
Business Council drives investment growth
The Kazakhstan-China Business Council, which has been operating for over ten years, continues to facilitate investment projects between the two countries. During the 7th meeting held in Astana last year, coinciding with Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit, both sides signed 45 agreements worth $3.7 bn.
Kazakhstan and China are expected to continue deepening their economic collaboration, particularly in the renewable energy sector, as both nations prioritize sustainable development and infrastructure growth.
