17 Trillion Soums Allocated in Women’s Employment for 2024

In 2024, the Uzbek government allocated 17 trillion soums to support employment and entrepreneurship among women, as announced by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The state’s investments have yielded positive results. By the end of the year, women entrepreneurs in the country produced goods worth 81 trillion soums and exported products valued at $450 mln. This initiative has also contributed to the creation of new jobs, particularly for women from low-income families.
The President highlighted the project «I Am a Participant in the Process of Creation,» which aims to train women in mahallas (neighborhoods) in in-demand professions and crafts.
«I view these businesswomen, who take on significant social responsibility, as creators of the New Uzbekistan, and I express my deep gratitude to them. I am committed to providing additional support and resources for their endeavors,» the President stated.
Uzbekistan aims to employ two mln women by 2025, with plans to train 1.3 mln women in entrepreneurship.
The President has ordered the allocation of an extra 3.3 trillion soums for projects aimed at developing women’s entrepreneurship in mahallas. Women residents will have access to collateral-free loans and other benefits to help establish their own businesses. Furthermore, programs to enhance women’s business skills will be expanded.
