Uzbekistan and Russia have discussed plans to build a nuclear power plant with a larger capacity, according to the Uzatom news agency.
The conversation took place in Tashkent between Azim Akhmedkhadhadzhayev, the head of Uzatom, and Andrey Petrov, the first deputy general director of Rosatom.
They addressed the project for a small nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan, including the supply of fuel and the training of personnel for the facility.
Uzatom noted that the construction of the small nuclear power plant is currently in the design phase.
Kursiv Uzbekistan also reported that the estimated cost of the nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan would be less than $2 bn.
