Israel Investigates Reports of Death Sentence for Uzbekistan Nationals in Cvi Kogan Murder Case

Israel is verifying reports that the UAE has sentenced three Uzbekistani nationals to death for the murder of Chabad emissary Cvi Kogan, according to Israel National News.
A recording circulating on social media allegedly captures one of the suspects informing his mother about the verdict:
«The three of us have been sentenced to death,» he says.
Authorities have yet to confirm the authenticity of the recording. Kursiv Uzbekistan has formally requested clarification from Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry.
What happened
Cvi Kogan, a resident of the UAE and a representative of Chabad in Abu Dhabi, went missing on November 21. Authorities discovered his body three days later, showing signs of a violent death.
Three Uzbekistani nationals suspected of the murder fled to Turkey, where local authorities arrested and later extradited them to the UAE. Uzbekistan is actively cooperating with Israel and the UAE in the investigation.
Meanwhile, the BBC reports that some Israeli politicians blame Iran for Kogan’s murder. Tehran has denied these allegations.
