Uzbekistan plans to build over 2,900 micro-hydropower plants in 2025-2026, the Ministry of Energy reports.
The total capacity of the plants will reach 164 MW, allowing them to generate 500 mln kWh of electricity annually.
The construction of these plants will also create jobs for 1,200 people during the building phase, and 520 permanent positions once the power stations are operational.
