Trump Says He Doesn’t Need Musk – But Still Praises Him

President Donald Trump has said he doesn’t rely on Elon Musk for anything — apart from the fact that he simply likes him — while praising the businessman’s performance during a cabinet meeting in Washington.
«I don’t need Elon for anything, except that I like the guy. But I’m telling you, he’s done a fantastic job,» the president stated.
Trump added that he had no need for a new Tesla but still bought the highest-spec model, paying «a ton of money» for it. He praised Musk for producing outstanding vehicles.
The comments came amid speculation about internal tensions within the administration. In early April, Musk publicly clashed with presidential adviser Peter Navarro, calling the economist «as dumb as a rock» and «a complete idiot.»
In addition, Elon Musk will officially lose his status as a special government employee at the end of May. Under US law, such status cannot exceed 130 days. Meanwhile, reports suggest that members of the Democratic Party intend to push for Musk’s removal from government duties.
