Uzbekistan Exports $1.3 Mln Worth of Persimmons

Uzbekistan exported over 2,400 tons of persimmons in January and February this year, totaling $1.3 mln in export revenue, according to data from the State Committee on Statistics (Naсkomstat).

The main buyer of Uzbek persimmons was Kazakhstan, which imported 1,200 tons. Russia followed with 940 tons, while Kyrgyzstan purchased 186.3 tons.

This year, Uzbekistan aims to export vegetables, fruits, and other food products worth $3.5 bn. The government also plans to expand into promising new markets, targeting over $440 mln in exports to those destinations.

Kursiv Uzbekistan also reports that agricultural production in the country grew by 18.5%.
