$170 Mln to be Attracted for New Chemical Enterprises in Uzbekistan

In the second quarter of 2025, Uzbekistan plans to complete the construction and launch of new chemical enterprises, including plants for the production of “green” hydrogen and cyanide salts. To finance these projects, approximately $170 mln in foreign investment will be attracted, according to a presentation made to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev focused on the development of the chemical industry.

Earlier, in the first quarter of this year, the sector already secured $181 mln in investments, with three projects worth $39 mln successfully implemented.

Over the past five years, Uzbekistan’s chemical industry has experienced significant growth:

  • 23 new enterprises have been launched
  • More than 4,000 jobs have been created
  • Chemical clusters have been established in Navoi, Fergana and Kungrad
  • Technoparks have been opened in Chirchik and Jizzakh
  • The Kokand Superphosphate Plant underwent complete modernization
  • Overall production volumes in the sector have increased by 1.5 times

Looking ahead, the Unified Digital Platform will display 15 key performance indicators for chemical enterprises, and new digital modules will be implemented within the chemical plant system to further improve efficiency.

Kursiv Uzbekistan reported that chemical production in Uzbekistan grew by 20% year-on-year.
