India and Pakistan are approaching the verge of renewed armed conflict, according to The New York Times, citing informed sources. Relations between the two countries have deteriorated sharply following the recent shooting of tourists in the Kashmir region.

New Delhi has accused Islamabad of orchestrating the attack, an allegation that Pakistan strongly denies. Pakistani officials argue that India is using the incident as a distraction from its internal security challenges in Kashmir.

«India initiated an escalation last night, and this one will be more intense than the events of February 2019,» said Pakistani analyst Syed Muhammad Ali.

In 2019, militants in Kashmir carried out an attack against Indian security forces, leading to a military confrontation between the two countries, including cross-border air strikes.

Despite the mounting tension, Pakistan has not observed any significant troop movement by the Indian military so far. Nevertheless, Pakistani forces remain on high alert along the Kashmir border.

Since gaining independence from the United Kingdom, India and Pakistan have engaged in several armed conflicts, primarily over the disputed region of Kashmir.
