President Shavkat Mirziyoyev Explores Global Product Labelling Technologies at Innoprom

The 5th International Industrial Exhibition Innoprom. Central Asia opened in Tashkent. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev was presented with advanced digital labeling systems used in Uzbekistan and across the EAEU.

During the presentation, Ekaterina Priezzheva, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia, and Mikhail Dubin, Chairman of the Board of the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CRPT), explained the benefits of labelling systems and showcased mobile applications from Russia (Chestny ZNAK) and Uzbekistan (ASL BELGISI).

These applications allow consumers to independently verify product details before purchase. By scanning a label, users can check expiration dates, manufacturing locations, certifications and product ingredients.

In Russia, the system enables full traceability of dairy products from farm and factory locations to the point of sale. Thanks to this system, the rate of counterfeit dairy products has dropped from 30% to just 0.01%.

Consumers can also help combat illegal goods by reporting violations directly through the app. Over 250,000 reports have been submitted using this feature since 2019.

Mikhail Dubin also noted that since the introduction of product labelling in 2021, the system has contributed 6 trillion UZS (approx. 37.5 bn RUB) to Uzbekistan’s national budget, including over 2 trillion UZS in taxes from alcohol and tobacco products.

President Mirziyoyev was also shown Russian-made labelling equipment, developed as part of a localisation program between CRPT and Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade. Today, up to 90% of this equipment is locally produced. One of the highlights was an innovative labelling technology for aluminium caps developed by Callisto Group. These tailored solutions help minimise startup costs and boost production efficiency across industries.
