Beeline Uzbekistan, part of the VEON Group, continues its active network expansion across the country, improving the quality of mobile connectivity. The company has launched a pilot project using advanced Triple Band Massive MIMO 32T32R equipment and shared the results of its network modernization efforts since the beginning of 2025.

Ahead of upcoming GSMA Forum, Beeline Uzbekistan launched a pilot project featuring RAN equipment based on Triple Band Massive MIMO 32T32R technology. This solution, unique in Uzbekistan’s telecom market, enables simultaneous LTE deployment across three different frequency bands. The technology is compatible with both existing 4G/LTE network and future 5G deployment.

A key feature of the project is the use of innovative Massive MIMO 32T32R (Multiple Input, Multiple Output) technology — a modern data transmission approach that uses 32 transmit and 32 receive channels. This significantly increases network capacity and improves signal quality, even under high traffic conditions, such as in densely populated areas or at large public gatherings.

The project allows the network to support more users and efficiently manage traffic, resulting in a significant increase in both the capacity and coverage radius of each base station (BS).

As part of its expansion efforts and adoption of new technologies, Beeline Uzbekistan has already installed new base stations across eleven regions of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Karakalpakstan. The majority of new stations were launched in Fergana, Kashkadarya, and Tashkent regions. By the end of 2025, over 350 new base stations will be added to the Beeline Uzbekistan network.

In parallel, the company is carrying out large-scale infrastructure modernization initiative aimed at increasing network capacity and data transmission speeds at existing base stations. In 2025, this project will cover more than 400 BS. In areas where upgrades have been completed, the average mobile internet speed per user has increased by 67.4%, with peak-time speeds growing by 36.3%. Fergana region leads in terms of modernization, with over 100 BS upgraded since the start of the year, followed by Tashkent and Tashkent region (over 50 BS), and the Andijan region (around 30 BS).

«We are committed not only to maintaining stable network operations but also to introducing innovations that deliver real value to our users. New technologies enable faster, more accessible, and higher-quality connectivity — wherever our customers are in Uzbekistan. Investments in infrastructure and the deployment of new technologies are the foundation of our strategy. We are building the network of the future to ensure stable connectivity, high speeds, and a superior digital experience for our customers,» said Gediz Sezgin, Chief Technology and Innovation Officer at Beeline Uzbekistan.

The development of mobile networks, digital transformation of the region, and expansion of opportunities in the telecommunications sector will be the key themes of the GSMA M360 Eurasia 2025 forum, taking place in Tashkent on May 21–22.

Registration for M360 Eurasia 2025 is open for industry professionals, policymakers, and technology leaders via the link.
