Uzbekistan is seeking closer cooperation with Italy in green energy, education, and culture. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev outlined these priorities at the Central Asia – Italy summit, calling for deeper collaboration across strategic sectors.

He proposed a multilateral green platform to help Central Asian countries implement their decarbonisation strategies. Uzbekistan is ready to partner with Italian firms in renewable energy, hydrogen development, water infrastructure, and enterprise energy audits.

«We are ready to implement joint projects, including the supply of green energy to the EU,» said Mirziyoyev. Italy’s engineering and manufacturing firms are expected to play a key role.

On education, the President praised the local branches of Turin Polytechnic and Pisa University, which have expanded academic offerings in Tashkent. He proposed a Central Asia – Italy Scientific and Educational Consortium to finance joint research and talent development in engineering, biotech, and design.

In culture and tourism, Mirziyoyev called for the launch of a regional tourism alliance and proposed holding a Youth Forum on Creative Industries and Cultural Exchange in Khiva next year.

«Our Italian friends showed great interest in our recent exhibitions in Rome and Florence,» he said, underlining the potential for deeper cultural ties.

Earlier, Kursiv Uzbekistan reported Uzbekistan sees Italy as a key partner in tackling global security challenges.
