Uzbekistan’s share of total foreign remittances into Kazakhstan rose to 10.2%, up from 9.7% in March. This positions the country as Kazakhstan’s third-largest source of incoming money transfers, after Russia (25.7%) and the US (15.4%).
Analysts attribute the increase to greater migrant activity and improved access to money transfer services. The number of transactions from Uzbekistan also rose — from 2,660 to 2,870.
Earlier, Kursiv Uzbekistan reported that remittances sent by individuals to Uzbekistan in Q1 2025 totalled $3.3 bn.
