Kazakhstan has ranked among the world’s top 20 countries by gold reserves following steady growth in refined gold production over the past decade.

At the 15th International Mining and Metallurgical Congress, Vice Minister of Industry and Construction Iran Sharkhan noted that gold-bearing ore extraction has increased by 2.2 times. Refined gold output has also doubled.

He emphasised that metals play a key role not only in the economy but also in global political influence. Despite rising competition, Kazakhstan continues to follow a stable and neutral course in global markets.

Kazakhstan remains a major exporter of key industrial metals including copper, titanium, aluminium, zinc, and rare metals like tantalum and beryllium.
