Iran Offers to Halt Strikes on Israel and Renounce Nuclear Weapons

Iran has expressed its readiness to reach an agreement that would guarantee the country does not possess nuclear weapons, according to Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic.
At the same time, Araghchi stressed that Tehran would not accept a deal that limits its legitimate rights to develop peaceful nuclear energy. He stated that Iran’s position depends on the purpose of any agreement: if it aims to enhance regional security, Iran remains open to dialogue. However, if it seeks to restrict sovereign rights, the country will reject it.
Speaking on the ongoing escalation with Israel, the foreign minister said Iran would stop retaliatory actions only if Tel Aviv ends its aggression. He argued that Israel’s recent attacks aimed to sabotage a potential resumption of nuclear talks between Iran and the United States.
Araghchi also revealed that Iran had received informal diplomatic messages from the US government claiming that Washington is not involved in Israel’s actions. However, Tehran views these statements with scepticism and demands a clear and public stance.
He called on the US to unequivocally state its non-involvement and to condemn the strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. The foreign minister urged international organisations and the global community to take the situation seriously and speak out against further escalation.
Earlier, Kursiv Uzbekistan reported that Uzbekistan Airways had adjusted its flight schedules between Tashkent, Dubai, and Sharm El Sheikh due to temporary restrictions in Iranian airspace.
