Durov Reveals Telegram Will Go to a Non-Profit if He Dies

All of Pavel Durov’s biological children will receive equal inheritance rights — but only after a 30-year waiting period. In an interview with Le Point, the founder of Telegram shared the details of his will.
If Durov, who remains Telegram’s sole shareholder, dies or disappears, control of the platform will transfer to a non-profit foundation. This organisation would continue to develop Telegram in line with its founding principles: upholding freedom of speech and protecting user privacy.
The 40-year-old entrepreneur said the will was written to safeguard both his family and the company. Durov added that due to Telegram’s firm stance on privacy and independence, he has made many powerful enemies.
«I want Telegram to remain forever loyal to the values I stand for,» he said.
Durov is officially the father of six children by three women. He has also fathered over 100 children through sperm donation. According to him, he recognises all of his biological children and grants them equal rights to his estate.
He explained that the 30-year delay in access to the inheritance is intended to allow his children to live normal lives, learn to trust one another, and become independent.
Earlier, Kursiv Uzbekistan reported on why Pavel Durov uses his smartphone only twice a week.
