64% of U.S. Visa Applications from Uzbekistan Rejected

The United States rejected over 64% of tourist and business visa applications (B1/B2 category) submitted by Uzbek citizens in 2024, according to a new report from the U.S. State Department.

The exact refusal rate was 64.41%, up 4.85 percentage points compared to 2023, when the figure stood at 59.56%. This is one of the highest rates in Central Asia.

For comparison, the refusal rates in other Central Asian countries were:

  • Turkmenistan – 58.8%
  • Kazakhstan – 46.29%
  • Tajikistan – 45.24%
  • Kyrgyzstan – 39.14%

High refusal rates were also observed in:

  • Armenia – 59.46%
  • Canada – 56.35%
  • Iran – 55.54%

In contrast, applicants in many European and Asian countries had a much higher chance of approval:

  • France – 8.5% rejection rate
  • Germany – 10.02%
  • Japan – 5.76%
  • UAE – 1.46%

Among post-Soviet countries, the lowest rejection rates were in:

  • Belarus – 28.79%
  • Azerbaijan – 21.46%
  • Ukraine – 33.45%
  • Russia – 38.56%
