What Ideas Did Mirziyoyev Propose at the EAEU Summit

At the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed a number of initiatives aimed at deepening cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

Trade and Technical Regulation

Mirziyoyev called for accelerating the coordination of initiatives aimed at simplifying trade procedures and harmonizing technical regulation systems. He emphasized Uzbekistan’s interest in joining digital trade support mechanisms, including systems for technical regulation, digital transport corridors, and the Eurasian Reinsurance Company.

Digital Cooperation

The president proposed the adoption of a special program for digital cooperation. This would cover:

  • E-commerce
  • Digital product labeling
  • Creation of modern logistics platforms
  • Implementation of artificial intelligence technologies in selected industries

Border and Customs Procedures

Uzbekistan expressed readiness to participate in a unified information system for border checkpoints, which Mirziyoyev said would enhance transparency and speed up border crossings.

Industrial Cooperation

Uzbekistan plans to participate more actively in SME support programs and leverage the Eurasian Technology Transfer Network to foster industrial collaboration.

Food Security

On the issue of food security, Mirziyoyev proposed a joint agri-cooperation program with EAEU countries. The initiative would involve:

  • Introduction of modern agricultural technologies
  • Simplified rules for the movement of agricultural goods
  • Expansion of the «green corridor» for food products

Labor Migration

Addressing labor migration, the president advocated for harmonising professional standards and expressed Uzbekistan’s willingness to join the «Work Without Borders» platform, aimed at boosting labor mobility across the region.
