Uzbekistan and South Korea Boost Economic Ties at Tashkent Business Forum

On July 5 2025, Tashkent hosted the Uzbekistan–South Korea Business Forum, held during the official visit of a delegation from the South Korean city of Ulsan, the government portal reports. The event brought together more than 100 representatives from business and government circles of both countries, underscoring their growing economic partnership.
The forum was co-chaired by Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev and Ulsan Mayor Kim Doo Gyeom, who highlighted the strong momentum in bilateral ties and reaffirmed their readiness to expand economic cooperation.
Green Energy Agreement with Major Korean Corporations
A key outcome of the forum was the signing of a comprehensive cooperation agreement on green energy initiatives. The deal involves the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan, the Uzbekistan Economic Assembly, the Ulsan City Administration, and major South Korean companies, including:
- Hyundai Engineering
- Samsung C&T
- LG Energy Solution
- Korea East-West Power
- Doosan Enerbility
- LS Electric
The agreement paves the way for joint efforts in renewable energy, sustainable development and cutting-edge energy technologies.
New Projects from KSJOB.Inc
The forum also featured B2B and B2G negotiations, where business and government representatives exchanged concrete proposals and discussed the launch of new joint ventures.
One highlight was a meeting between KSJOB.Inc, a leading South Korean customer service and contact centre solutions provider, and IT Park Uzbekistan. During the talks, KSJOB.Inc announced the start of a pilot recruitment programme.
The company also revealed plans to register a legal entity in Uzbekistan, marking a significant step in its Central Asian expansion. Representatives were especially impressed by their June 30 visit to Fergana, where they met well-trained local professionals and toured regional BPO companies.
Founded in 1998, KSJOB.Inc serves over 120 clients across finance, retail and the public sector, with a workforce of more than 7,200 employees. Its services span AI-driven call centre solutions, voice recognition, and cloud-based CRM platforms. The firm reported a revenue of over $210 mln in 2024.
IT Park Expands Support for Language Training and BPO Growth
According to Makhliyo Mukhsinova, Head of Export Development at IT Park Uzbekistan, the organisation plans to launch Korean language courses in Fergana. The initiative will help prepare local candidates to join KSJOB.Inc’s international BPO projects.
Mukhsinova emphasised that IT Park remains committed to attracting global investors and creating skilled jobs for Uzbekistanis in the business process outsourcing (BPO) sector.
Kursiv also reports that Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover reached new levels in January–May 2025, with China, Russia, and Kazakhstan ranking as the top three trading partners.
