Busan to Send Trade Delegations to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan

South Korea’s port city of Busan is preparing to send trade delegations to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan this autumn, according to the Yonhap news agency. The move is part of a broader effort to expand into Central Asian markets, which Busan views as a key area for growth.
The delegations will visit Tashkent and Astana between 15 and 20 September. Central Asia is described as an emerging market with strong demand for both industrial and consumer goods, making it an attractive destination for Korean exporters.
Delegation members will take part in export negotiations, one-on-one business meetings and specialised seminars.
Busan’s city administration expects the trip to result in more than 72 export consultations, with each participating company projected to sign contracts worth an average of $4.5 mln.
Trade between South Korea and Uzbekistan reached $709.8 mln from January to May 2025. Seoul remains one of Tashkent’s top five trading partners.
Kursiv also reports that Uzbekistan will build a modern pharmaceutical plant in partnership with South Korea’s DK Consulting.
