Uzbek Agricultural Exports to UK Double in Early 2025

Uzbekistan has doubled its agricultural exports to the United Kingdom in the first five months of 2025, according to Dunyo news agency.
In particular, Uzbek melons began entering the British market in July this year. Within a short period, 10 tonnes of melons were delivered by Uzbekistan Airways on the Tashkent–London route. The melons, known for their unique sweetness and flavour, have generated strong demand among British consumers.
Exports of legumes, dried fruits and nuts have also increased this year. These include grapes, cherries, raisins, chickpeas, mung beans and apricot kernels. Fresh produce and processed goods grown in Uzbekistan are now sold through leading retail chains across the UK.
This trend reflects growing attention to Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector, improvements in product quality that meet international standards and enhancements to logistics networks. As a result, the country’s produce continues to gain recognition in global markets.
Kursiv also reports a story of an Uzbek farmer who cultivates 127 varieties of melons in the banks of Amy Darya river and has also produced his own melon variety.
