The Humo Token is not intended for use in specific countries, according to an official statement from the payment system’s press service.

«It is being developed as a universal infrastructure tool, applicable in various environments, provided all relevant legal requirements and regulatory procedures are met,» the company emphasised.

The HUMO Token project complies with Uzbekistan’s legislation and is based on principles of transparency and legal stability, the company noted.

Earlier, RBC reported that the Humo token could facilitate cross-border payments, including for companies from Russia, citing Pavel Bibik. At the same time, Fintech Partners managing partner Aleksandr Kalyakin stated that while the token could be attractive to businesses, it is not immune to secondary sanctions.

Experts interviewed by Kommersant said the Humo coin may appeal to Russian businesses, but its use would be limited by Russian law. Additionally, sanctions restrict the use of cryptocurrencies by Russian citizens.

«This is where tokens with more lenient sanction compliance policies might come in handy. Whether Humo will be such a token is hard to say, since Uzbekistan—at least at the level of banks and crypto exchanges—largely upholds existing restrictions,» commented Yuriy Brisov, partner at Digital & Analogue Partners.
