A feature-length film capturing the final live performance of Ozzy Osbourne and the original members of Black Sabbath is slated for cinema release in early 2026, Variety reports. Titled Back to the Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow, the 100-minute documentary will chronicle the band’s emotional farewell concert held at Birmingham’s Villa Park, where they played to a sold-out crowd of 42,000 fans.
Produced by Mercury Studios, the film presents a condensed version of the day-long musical celebration. Described in promotional material as a heartfelt tribute to Ozzy and the groundbreaking legacy of Black Sabbath, it includes dynamic renditions of fan favourites such as War Pigs, Iron Man, Children of the Grave and a climactic performance of Paranoid. The film will also feature exclusive backstage content and interviews, offering a closer look at one of heavy metal’s most influential figures.
Rock Legends Unite for Ozzy’s Final Bow
The landmark event, hosted by actor Jason Momoa, brought together rock icons including Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, Ronnie Wood, Slayer, Pantera, Tool, Yungblud, and Ghost’s Papa V. One of the evening’s highlights was a spectacular drum battle involving Tool’s Danny Carey, Travis Barker of Blink-182 and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith.
Following its cinema debut, Back to the Beginning will be made available in physical formats later in 2026. Further release details are expected in the coming months.
The performance marked the first time in two decades that Black Sabbath’s original lineup reunited on stage. Alongside the live audience, over three million viewers accessed the concert via a paid livestream. Osbourne, now 76, performed seated due to health issues, including multiple spinal surgeries and his ongoing struggle with Parkinson’s disease.
In addition to the concert film, Osbourne will reflect on his health journey and retirement from the stage in an upcoming Paramount+ documentary titled No Escape From Now, scheduled to premiere later this year.
