This year’s Fall 2025 Haute Couture Week in Paris reflected a turning point in the world of high fashion, showcasing visionary craftsmanship, reinvention, and powerful storytelling from some of the industry’s most influential designers. Harper Bazaar presents the latest trends from the podium.
One of the biggest debuts came from Glenn Martens, who presented his first collection for Maison Margiela Artisanal. His designs played with three-dimensional fabrics, trompe l’oeil effects, and upcycled materials, offering a compelling mix of avant-garde experimentation and sustainable design.
Meanwhile, Demna Gvasalia delivered his farewell collection for Balenciaga, ahead of his move to Gucci. The show paid cinematic tribute to Hollywood’s golden age, with Kim Kardashian making headlines in an ivory silk negligee, feathered coat, and Elizabeth Taylor’s iconic earrings.
At Schiaparelli, creative director Daniel Roseberry leaned into the house’s surrealist roots with bold drama. One unforgettable look featured a jewel-encrusted, anatomically accurate beating heart on a fiery red gown, a piece that embodied both artistic vision and emotional intensity.
Across the board, the couture shows featured bold shoulders, sculptural silhouettes, dramatic coats, and an emphasis on volume and structure. These trends spotlighted not just fashion’s creative evolution, but the meticulous artistry that defines couture today.
Paris, long known as fashion’s capital, once again confirmed its status as the global stage for reinvention, craftsmanship and style with meaning. Fall 2025 was not just a season, it was a statement.
