Zaamin Technopark Receives Projects Worth $250 Mln

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has reviewed the next phase of development at Zaamin Technopark in Jizzakh region, where several new investment projects are planned to launch soon.
The industrial complex, being built across 400 hectares, has already entered its first phase, with nine projects currently under development. Five additional high-potential projects have now been approved as part of the second phase.
Among them is the establishment of joint production lines with Longze Investment Group for medical and security equipment, and a collaboration with Foxit for the manufacturing of laptops, tablets, servers and routers. Other upcoming initiatives include the production of leather and sports footwear, construction materials, porcelain tableware and chemical products.
Together, these projects represent an investment of around $250 mln. All of them will focus on manufacturing high value-added goods, with approximately 70% of output intended for export.
Foreign investment in Jizzakh region continues to grow steadily. While the region attracted only $18 mln in foreign capital in 2018, that figure exceeded $1 bn last year. Over the past eight years, a total of $3.7 bn has been invested, more than 4,000 industrial enterprises have been established and the number of foreign-capital-backed businesses has surpassed 260.
