Chelsea legend Roberto Di Matteo says the Blues are in no rush to sell Nicolas Jackson, despite growing interest in the 24-year-old striker from top European clubs, including Manchester United, AC Milan and Napoli, as reported by Mirrow.
United have reportedly emerged as frontrunners, with Chelsea valuing Jackson at £80 million. Talks between United and the player’s representatives are already underway, though Jackson is said to prefer staying in the Premier League.

Speaking to BetVictor, Di Matteo highlighted Chelsea’s financial strength and depth in the squad:
«Chelsea are in a great position—they’re not forced to sell,» he said. «They can raise funds from other players on the market and aren’t under pressure. It all depends on what clubs are willing to pay.»
Jackson’s future at Stamford Bridge has come into question following Chelsea’s £85 million double signing of Brighton’s João Pedro and Ipswich’s Liam Delap. Both impressed during the Club World Cup, prompting speculation that Jackson may seek more regular playing time elsewhere.

Since joining from Villarreal in 2023, Jackson has scored 31 goals and remains under contract until 2033. While Chelsea are not actively looking to sell, Di Matteo believes the striker will have options.
«Jackson is a very good striker with experience in England. He’ll have clubs chasing him—Manchester United could be one, and even Aston Villa if they lose Morgan Rogers,» Di Matteo said.
Despite speculation, the former Chelsea boss hasn’t ruled out the possibility of Jackson staying:
«If he stays and fights for his place, I think he can still be a strong asset for Chelsea. But when your manager signs two strikers, it sends a message. He might decide it’s time to move on.»
