Uzbekistan’s Average Monthly Wage Rises 17.2% in H1 2025

The average monthly nominal wage in Uzbekistan reached 5,982,300 UZS ($472.8) in the first half of 2025, marking a 17.2% increase compared to the same period last year, according to preliminary data released by the National Committee on Statistics.
This rise reflects a steady upward trend over the past five years. In 2021, the average wage stood at 2,968,500 UZS ($234.6), gradually increasing each year to surpass 5,106,000 ($403.5) in 2024 and now approaching the 6,000,000 mark.
Tashkent Leads in Regional Earnings
Among Uzbekistan’s regions, Tashkent city continues to offer the highest wages, with an average of 10,138,400 UZS ($801.2), up by 18.8% year-on-year. This figure far exceeds the national average and highlights the capital’s role as the economic centre of the country.
Other regions with notable figures include:
- Navoi region: 7,486,400 UZS ($591.7)
- Tashkent region: 5,674,400 UZS ($448.5)
- Syrdarya region: 4,789,800 UZS ($378.5)
- Andijan region: 4,935,300 UZS ($390)
Top-Paying Sectors: Finance, ICT and Transport
When broken down by sector, the highest wages are found in:
- Finance, insurance and related services: 16,252,900 UZS ($1,284.5)
- Information and communication technologies: 14,785,800 UZS ($1,168.5)
- Transport and storage: 9,006,600 UZS ($711.8)
- Industry: 7,173,100 UZS ($566.9)
- Trade: 6,700,900 UZS ($529.6)
The arts and entertainment sector saw the highest wage growth rate, with a 20.7% increase. Education also recorded a strong rise of 18.3%, while healthcare experienced a 12.4% boost.
Kursiv also reports that audits helped reduce inefficient budget spending in Uzbekistan by 5.6 trln UZS ($442.6 mln) in the first half of 2025.
