Uzbekistan Secures Record Medal Haul at FISU World University Games 2025

Uzbekistan has achieved its best-ever result at the FISU World University Games 2025, claiming a total of 15 medals during the recently concluded international student games held in Germany. The National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan confirmed the accomplishment, highlighting the strong performance of the country’s young athletes on the global stage.
The Uzbek team finished 13th in the overall medal standings, earning four gold, four silver and seven bronze medals. Japan topped the table, followed by China and the United States.
On the final day of competition, July , Uzbekistan’s Sharifa Davronova delivered a standout performance in the women’s triple jump, taking gold with a leap of 14.33 metres, her personal best.
Czech athlete Linda Suchá took silver, while Australia’s Desleigh Owusu claimed bronze.
National Olympic Committee commended Davronova’s performance, calling it a career milestone and a symbol of the country’s growing strength in international athletics.
The FISU World University Games 2025 was held from 16 to 27 July and featured participation from 8,500 student-athletes and officials from over 100 countries. They competed for medals in 18 sports.
The FISU World University Games, commonly referred to as the Universiade, is the world’s largest multi-sport event for university students and young athletes. Organised by the International University Sports Federation (FISU), the Games are held every two years and bring together thousands of participants from around the globe.
