On July 26, a 33-year-old singer Zeboyi Jahon, whose real name was Zebiniso Nosirova, was found dead in her home in Taylak district of Samarkand. Preliminary reports suggest that her husband may have been involved in the incident, according to a report aired by Millar on Milliy TV.
According to initial information, the man had arrived at the home of his former spouse, reportedly to visit their children. A dispute broke out between them, which allegedly escalated to physical violence, ending in the woman being strangled. Zeboyi Jahon died at the scene from her injuries.
«My sister did not deserve to die like that. I was at work that day, I work for the emergency medical service. Around 4 p.m., my wife called and said something had happened to my sister. I phoned my mother, and she said, ‘Come immediately, she’s been killed.’ How could someone do that to his own wife, the mother of three sons?» said the victim’s brother, calling for the harshest possible punishment.
Nosirova, born in 1991, was the mother of three young sons.
Uzbekistan’s General Prosecutor’s Office later confirmed the arrest of a 32-year-old man in connection with the case. Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Article 97, Part 1 of the Uzbek Criminal Code, which deals with premeditated murder. Investigations are currently ongoing.
