Sarah Jessica Parker has shared an emotional farewell to her iconic role as Carrie Bradshaw, following HBO’s announcement that season 3 of And Just Like That will be the final instillment of the Sex and the City universe.

In an Instagram post, Parker, 60, said:

«Carrie Bradshaw has dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years… I think I have loved her most of all.»

The actress expressed deep gratitude for the fans and collaborators who’ve followed the character’s evolution from a columnist in Manhattan to a woman navigating her fifties. She praised showrunner Michael Patrick King (MPK), calling the series «joy, adventure, and the greatest kind of hard work.»

«AJLT was all joy… it will be forever before I forget the whole thing. Thank you all.»

King also shared that while writing the season 3 finale, «it became clear this might be a wonderful place to stop.» The final chapter will feature a two-part finale, with an extended episode count — 12 instead of 10.

The spin-off, launched in 2021, continued the story of Carrie, Charlotte York (Kristin Davis), and Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), as they embraced a new phase of life in New York City.

Davis wrote on Instagram:

«Profoundly sad to see the show end… And to our loyal fans, we love you forever and ever.»

The original Sex and the City series aired from 1998 to 2004, followed by two feature films. And Just Like That revived the franchise, offering nostalgia, reinvention, and a fresh take on aging, relationships and friendship.
