Tashkent Residents Can Now Track Emergency Ambulances Online

A new pilot project launched in Tashkent will allow residents of the capital to track the real-time location of emergency ambulance teams, Kursiv Uzbekistan learned from Yandex Uzbekistan’s press service.
Currently, the service is available via a web browser and only for emergency calls. After contacting a dispatcher, the caller receives an SMS with a link to an interactive map displaying the live location of the assigned ambulance.
In the future, the project is expected to scale up, with plans to integrate ambulance tracking directly into the Yandex Go mobile app.
According to the project’s developers, this feature will help patients prepare for the ambulance’s arrival and ease pressure on dispatchers. Uzbekistan’s ambulance service handles up to 40,000 calls daily, with approximately 60% classified as emergencies.
To launch the tracking system, the Republican Ambulance Center implemented the JavaScript API from Yandex Maps.
Kursiv Uzbekistan reports that Malaysian budget airline AirAsia X will begin operating direct flights between Tashkent and Kuala Lumpur.
