The International Finance Corporation (IFC), in collaboration with the Association of Young Architects of Uzbekistan, has announced the launch of the National Green Building Design Competition.

The competition features two categories: one for students and one for professionals. Participants are required to design a green building — either a new development or a renovation of an existing structure.

Entries must reflect the climatic conditions of Uzbekistan and incorporate modern, sustainable technologies. The use of local materials is encouraged to help reduce costs and minimize environmental impact.

Applications will be accepted online until September 10. The jury will evaluate submissions on September 17–18, and the winners will be announced on October 6.

In the student category, the first-place winner will receive a certificate, trophy, and a cash prize of $1,500. Second and third place will be awarded a certificate, trophy, and cash prizes of $700 and $500, respectively.

In the professional category, the top prize is a certificate, trophy, and $2,000. The second and third place winners will receive $1,000 and $700, respectively, along with certificates and trophies.
