From July 23 to 29, 2025, a delegation from Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade visited the United States to boost export capacity and deepen trade and economic relations.

During their visit to New York, 25 Uzbek textile companies showcased their products under the unified «Made in Uzbekistan» brand at three major international trade fairs — Texworld NYC, Apparel Sourcing USA and Home Textiles Sourcing Expo.

As part of the exhibitions, Uzbek representatives held talks with major brands and industry associations, including Levi Strauss & Co., PVH Corp., American Eagle Outfitters, Macy’s, Bunzl plc, Tapestry Inc., and trade bodies such as the AAFA and USFIA. Discussions focused on market entry for Uzbek goods in the US and opportunities to receive orders through global sourcing platforms.

The delegation also met with officials from the US Department of Commerce. Both sides expressed a shared interest in boosting trade turnover, reducing barriers and promoting investment cooperation. Particular emphasis was placed on expanding exports of Uzbek-made textiles, construction materials, electrical goods and agricultural produce.

A key focus of the talks was enabling Uzbek manufacturers to gain access to leading US retail platforms, including Amazon, Walmart, Whole Foods Market, Bloomingdale’s and The Home Depot.

In addition, an agreement was reached with the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) to organise joint seminars and webinars. These sessions will support Uzbek businesses in meeting US standards for certification and packaging, helping them better align with the expectations of American consumers and retailers.

Kursiv also reports that Uzbekistan has shown interest in importing cotton from the United States.
