Labour Minister Kim Young-hoon announced the initiative

The South Korean government will establish a comprehensive support system covering working conditions, industrial safety, and employment services for all foreign workers. This was announced by Labour Minister Kim Young-hoon during the EPS 2025 conference, which focused on improving the country’s employment system for migrant workers.

According to the minister, the authorities will uphold a zero-tolerance policy toward violations of migrant rights and will strengthen efforts to prevent workplace injuries. Plans also include improving housing conditions, expanding access to consultations and providing various forms of daily life support.

The EPS 2025 conference took place on August 6 in Seoul, bringing together over 100 participants, including representatives from countries that send workers to Korea, employers, and officials from the Ministry of Labour.

The Employment Permit System (EPS) allows small and medium-sized enterprises in South Korea to hire foreign workers without requiring formal professional education. Currently, 17 countries participate in the program, including Uzbekistan.

Kursiv Uzbekistan also reports that Uzbekistan and Indonesia have entered into a wide-ranging aviation agreement aimed at expanding air connectivity between the two countries.
