A striking new still from Kiss of the Spider Woman, Bill Condon’s colourful adaptation of the Tony Award-winning musical, was unveiled at Collider’s Exclusive Preview event. The image captures Jennifer Lopez, as silver-screen icon Ingrid Luna, exuding old-Hollywood glamour in a cream silk gown and red lipstick, holding Tonatiuh’s Molina in a lavish dressing-room scene reminiscent of a Golden Age MGM production. A mirrored reflection hints at Ingrid’s dual nature — part dream, part survival — seen through Molina’s romantic imagination.

Adapted from Manuel Puig’s 1976 novel and the celebrated stage musical by Terrence McNally, John Kander and Fred Ebb, the film follows two cellmates in a decaying Latin American prison. Diego Luna plays Valentín, a political prisoner, while Tonatiuh’s Molina, jailed for public indecency, escapes reality through vivid retellings of classic musicals, each starring his glamorous alter ego.

Condon’s Vision for the Film

From the director of Dreamgirls and Beauty and the Beast, the production blends bold Technicolor style with emotional depth.

«We wanted to honour the stylised power of classic musicals, but also tell a very human story about resilience, connection and the masks we wear to survive,» Condon said.

Lopez not only leads the cast but also serves as executive producer alongside Luna, working with a powerhouse line-up that includes Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Barry Josephson. Produced by Josephson, Tom Kirdahy and Greg Yolen, and presented by Artists Equity and Mohari Media, the film arrives in cinemas on October 10, 2025.

Kursiv also reports that a total of 25K tickets were sold for Jennifer Lopez’s concert in Tashkent, of which 15K were purchased by foreign visitors.
