Hamkorbank Preferred Shares Gain 11% in a Week

Last week, the most liquid stocks on the Uzbek stock market showed mixed dynamics. From August 1 to 8, the UCI index fell by 1.05%, according to exchange data.

The biggest growth for the week was recorded by Hamkorbank’s preferred shares, which rose by 11.07% to 30 soums. The top three gainers also included Kokand Mechanical Plant shares (+7.87% for the week) and Biokimyo (+6.24%).

The main losers of the week were Uztelecom’s preferred shares, which lost 8.58% in value. In addition, ordinary shares of Hamkorbank fell by 3.97%, and Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AMMC) preferred shares declined by 3.67%.

By the end of the week, nine of the most liquid stocks had gained value, 13 had decreased, and one remained unchanged.

The leaders by the number of transactions were Kapital Sug’urta (1,100 deals), Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange (UzRCE) (396 deals), and Kyzylkumcement (367 deals).

In terms of trading volume, Hamkorbank shares led with 13.69 billion soums. UzRCE shares ranked second (107.27 million soums), followed by construction company Elektrqishloqqurilish (89.04 million soums).

Kursiv Uzbekistan also reports that Uzbekistan cut the shadow economy to 35%.
