Pop icon Madonna has issued an emotional plea to Pope Leon XIV, urging him to intervene in Gaza’s worsening humanitarian situation. Writing on Instagram, the 66-year-old singer called on the pontiff to personally travel to the region to help protect children caught in the crisis.
«Most Holy Father, please go to Gaza and bring your light to the children before it’s too late,» Madonna wrote. «As a mother, I cannot bear to see their suffering. The children of the world belong to everyone.»
She stressed that the Pope is «the only one among us who cannot be denied entry» and called for humanitarian corridors to be fully opened to save lives.
«I am not pointing fingers, blaming anyone, or taking sides. Everyone is suffering — including the mothers of hostages. I pray for their release as well,» she continued. «I am simply doing everything in my power to prevent these children from dying of hunger.»
Concluding her message, Madonna emphasised that politics alone cannot resolve the crisis:
«Only conscience can. That is why I am reaching out to a man of God.»
