Uzbekistan’s elite combatants will join counterparts from South Korea, Cambodia, New Zealand and the United States in a high-level military skills competition next month in Inje County, Gangwon Province.
The 3rd Korea International Combat Training Competition (K-ICTC) will run from September 20 to 26, hosted by South Korea’s Ministry of National Defence and organised by the Army. Designed as a platform for military exchange, the contest brings together top soldiers from around the world to test their tactical abilities in realistic battle conditions using advanced science-based combat technology. Now in its third year, K-ICTC is steadily building a reputation as a premier event in scientific warfare and a venue for international military diplomacy.
Cutting-edge combat challenges

The programme aims to enhance the operational readiness of participating forces through complex training scenarios. The opening ceremony, set for the morning of September 22 at the Inje Natural Grass Field, will feature the Black Eagles aerobatic display, a military equipment showcase and public participation activities. Competitive events will follow at the Kimburi Urban Area Training Centre.
Ahead of the main competition, the Civil-Military Harmony Miles Survival Competition will be held on September 20–21, involving 32 teams from civilian and military survival clubs in mock combat using high-tech gear.
Strengthening alliances through joint battles
The K-ICTC will include a national league where each country’s fighters compete to demonstrate their coordination and tactical skill, as well as multinational combined battles pairing soldiers from different nations to strengthen camaraderie.
Four additional countries – NATO, India, Poland, Saudi Arabia and Turkey – will attend as observers, adding to the event’s international profile.
Colonel Lee Jeong-hoon, who oversaw planning and operations, described the competition as both a military exchange and a commemoration of the Korean War’s 75th anniversary. He said it would be «an opportunity for participating countries to raise combat capabilities to a higher level and to promote mutual cooperation and understanding.»
